#Ymlaen

pablo (1)

Mae’n ddechrau blwyddyn academaidd arall. Pawb wedi setlo a rhythm fy amserlen yn dechrau llifo. Cannoedd o blant, marcio, cynllunio a cheisio gyda phopeth sy ynof i wneud gwahaniaeth i bob un ohonynt. Croeso nôl gyda bwmp!

Mae’n dod i bob athro neu athrawes ar hyd y daith rwy’n siwr ond mae’n amser i mi symud ymlaen. Mae rhaid i mi gadael tu ôl i mi y ffads a’r pethau er mwyn plesio pawb arall a dechrau gweithio er mwyn y cannoedd. Does dim byd arall gen i i brofi heblaw am sicrhau bod yr amser dw i’n treulio gyda nhw yn effeithiol a gwerthfawr.

Ydy hynny’n golygu bydd pob wers yn wefreiddiol? Nac ydy! Ydy hynny’n golygu bod rhaid plesio fy rheolwr llinell? Nac ydy! Ydy hynny’n golygu fy mod i’n gwella f’ymarfer yn y dosbarth i fod yn hyblyg ac atebol i’r cannoedd sy o fy mlaen? Ydy wir!!

Siarad a dod i nabod bob un a’i diddordebau a sut y galla i greu’r amgylchiadau iddyn nhw gwneud cynnydd yn y Gymraeg. Atalnod llawn! Ydy hynny’n golygu ffocysi ar arholiadau? CA4 … ydy! Felly beth am CA3? Mewnbwn dealladwy #amdani! TL90+ #amdani! Agweddau di-gymell naturiol #amdani! Datblygu cynnwys yn lle gramadeg #amdani! Arbrofi gyda dulliau newydd a sgleinio sgiliau #amdani Ac ar ôl hyn i gyd, efallai bydd y problem CA4 yn ateb ei hun?

Dw i am un wedi cael llond twll o’r holl system addysg a’r rheolaeth perfformiad a data ac atebolrwydd gwaith papur.

Addysgu – pwyso a mesur – mireinio – addysgu #amdani!

Y gwir ydy taw’r unig ffordd i godi safonau – be bynnag hoffem cwyno amdani – ydy safonau dysgu ac addysgu. A dyna ni #amdani! Ar ôl hir oes yn ceisio rhyngweithio er mwyn hybu’r broses a threulio oriau maith yn darllen, dysgu a rhannu er lles pawb arall, mae’r amser wedi dod i mi ganolbwyntio ar yr un peth – dysgu ac addysgu!  Dydy rhyngweithio ddim yn gweithio yn y sector ail-iaith a dyna ni!

Wela i chi gyd ar yr ochr draw. Joiwch 🙂

A Creative Classroom inspired by ‘The Five Habits of Mind’.

Y dosbarth creadigol.

rjc7's Blog

I had the opportunity this week of attending a course held by the ‘Arts Council of Wales’ for leading creative schools.

It was a wonderful feeling to be able to discuss, to enact and learn about the impact of the creative Classroom. Perhaps the most telling question of the whole two days was,

‘What is creativity?’

The obvious answer would be a list of the arts. Music, dance, design and art itself however such a simple list would totally miss the point of the training. We were introduced to the five habits of mind. Although I vaguely recall reading about them briefly, I hadn’t really understood or considered the powerful impact that it could have in the classroom.

Winchester University have developed an easy to read PDF file detailing their findings,

The Comprehensible Classroom

Running dictation activity for language classes shared by The Comprehensible Classroom

I got this idea from Michele Whaley, who tells me that it is originally from Jason Fritze, who calls it a “Running Dictation”.

Start with a familiar story; one that you’ve already finished asking in class. Break down the story into basic plot points; between five and eight is ideal. Each of the chunks should consist of one short sentence; something that could easily be read, remembered, and repeated later on. For example:

  • The boy goes to Walmart
  • He buys a swimming pool
  • He brings home the swimming pool
  • He fills it with water
  • His arch enemy comes to visit
  • He slashes the side of the pool
  • The water spills out
  • The boy cries

If you have a complicated story with many important details, I recommend either using just a portion of the story OR using the most basic, main plot points and using the activity extension described…
